The program pilot and implementation research for the PositiveLinks (PL) Program was conducted by Rebecca Dillingham M.D., M.P.H., and Karen Ingersoll, Ph.D. at the University of Virginia's Ryan White Clinic. All publications and presentations listed below come from the PositiveLinks implementation research.

CDC Compendium of Evidence-Based Interventions
In December 2019, PositiveLinks was selected as an Evidence-Informed Intervention for Retention in HIV Care in the CDC's Compendium of Evidence-Based Interventions and Best Practices for HIV Prevention — the CDC's authoritative catalog of proven approaches to linkage, retention, and re-engagement in care.
HRSA TargetHIV Best Practices Compilation
In 2022, PositiveLinks was included in HRSA's TargetHIV Best Practices Compilation as an evidence-based intervention — one of a curated set of resources HRSA identifies for improving the care of people with HIV across Ryan White-funded programs nationally.
NASTAD / Center for Innovation and Engagement (CIE)
In 2021, PositiveLinks was named a CIE Intervention by the Center for Innovation and Engagement in collaboration with the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD) — recognizing it as a ready-to-replicate evidence-based intervention in HIV care.
UVA Edlich-Henderson Innovators of the Year Award
In 2020, WHT co-founders Rebecca Dillingham and Karen Ingersoll received the Edlich-Henderson Innovators of the Year Award from the UVA Licensing & Ventures Group — an endowed award recognizing University of Virginia faculty whose work is making a major impact on society. The award recognized their development of the PositiveLinks platform for HIV care.
HHS Ending the HIV Epidemic — Treat Strategy
PL Cares directly aligns with the HHS Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative's Treat pillar — supporting the re-engagement of the estimated 250,000 people aware of their HIV diagnosis but not in care, and those already in care who have not yet achieved viral suppression.
Virginia Department of Health — Standard of Care
PL Cares has received recognition and funding support from the Virginia Department of Health as a component of usual care at the UVA Ryan White Clinic since 2017 — reflecting ongoing state-level commitment to the program's clinical model.
